Learn how to maximize the harvest to build a system of symbiotic associations of plants in the garden, how to attract insects benefits and control pests with organic methods. Agenda: beneficial plants for pest control, insect identification most common techniques to avoid pest problems, homemade recipes for treating a pest problem.
Workshop: Urban Gardens self-watering pots

Saturday 6 / 10:00 to 14:00 hrs / $ 750 ( includes planted pot to take home)
The self-watering pots are made of Mexico's 100% recycled material, are lightweight, portable, beautiful, save water while facilitating irrigation and are suitable to be placed on rooftops. During this workshop you will learn the elements to plant a garden on a small scale and you'll get your own self-watering pot planted with organic vegetables, an aromatic herb and edible flower seeds. Agenda: characteristics of self-watering pots, preparation of substrate seed, seed germination in greenhouses and mini-tillage, crop selection and season, association and crop rotation, transplanting, irrigation and maintenance. Workshop: Urban Permaculture

Permaculture is a global movement and a practical philosophy for designing integrated systems of food production, appropriate technology and community development, working with nature at any scale. This workshop focuses on the challenges of designing production systems and harmonious within the city to achieve greater self-sufficiency. Responding to have expressed interest in visiting Romita the garden, knowing how to sow in the city and perhaps buy some supplies for home gardens, open a specific schedule to meet visitors on Saturday. In 1pm we will be organizing a tour to learn the various techniques of planting and of composting we have demonstrated. at the shop of the garden we have for sale: manuals for urban agriculture, organic seeds, humus, lombrikits, some seedlings and herbs, germination substrate, hydroponic Hydroscience and balls for of life.

Workshop: Composting and vermicomposting urban
Saturday 4 / 10:00 to 17:00 hrs / $ 600
Learn how to transform junk into fertile soil, healthy food and income within of the city. This is a theoretical and practical workshop designed to convey the benefits, techniques and challenges of developing compost in small spaces. We will be providing a number of practices to work with nature, know the ingredients of the compost and explore different models suitable containers. Rather than providing a single recipe, pass on the ecological, scientific and practical steps to be able to develop a compost production, nutritious and tasty at the urban scale. Agenda: the responsible management of organic waste , benefits of composting for sustainable agriculture, the importance of soil on a global and local characteristics and soil analysis, the science of decomposition, macro and microorganisms in the soil, appropriate ingredients, container designs, comparison of different systems composting, armed with a layered compost, worm urban characteristics of red worms, armed with a lombricaja, care and maintenance of composting, making compost tea and compost applications for edible and ornamental plants.
